Jacob Morales is a multi-instrumentalist, guitarist, drummer, and songwriter who began playing in bands when he was 11 years old. Coming from a musical background, he was able to experience an inside look into the music business through the lens of his father Richie Morales, a well renowned jazz and fusion drummer and educator in his own right. Jacob has accompanied and assisted his father on numerous gigs with music legends like Al Di Meola, Mike Stern, Michael Brecker and Grover Washington Jr., amongst many others. Jacob has performed at venues in New York City and the surrounding area like The Knitting Factory, The Bowery Electric, Rockwood Music Hall, The Delancy, Desmond’s, and many more with various bands, and spends his free time playing with his different bands and recording his own music from his home in Suffern, NY. After spending time working in the legal world, Jacob is now pursuing his passion for music through teaching lessons on guitar, drums, and keyboards.
Ryan is currently earning a degree in Jazz Performance at William Paterson University. He began his musical journey with classical piano lessons starting at age 10. Listening to classic rock inspired him to pick up the guitar just a year later. Through transposing the music of the piano onto the fretboard of the guitar, as well as learning songs and solos by ear, Ryan has progressed a long way in his many years of playing. In high school, he enrolled in NJPAC’s Jazz for Teens program, taking part in weekly jazz based study directed by notable saxophonist Mark Gross, and joined the program’s two top ensembles - the James Moody Jazz Orchestra, and the George Wein Scholars. Ryan had the opportunity to perform at the JazzÀVienne festival in Vienne, France, through the JazzUp program. Aside from performing and jamming alongside fellow NYC area musicians, Ryan continues to share and spread his love for music through teaching students of all levels and ages, and for his students to discover a personal connection to the music they make and create.
